Regan MacNay

Artistic Director

Regan MacNay is the Director of Choral Activities at Transylvania University in Lexington, KY. In addition to her busy teaching and performance schedule, she sings with the Kentucky Bach Choir and, in the time of covid, is an alto with The Washington Chorus under the direction of Dr. Eugene Rogers. She was thrilled to be part of TWC’s world premiere of Damien Geter’s Cantata for a More Hopeful Tomorrow (2020). She completed her doctorate at the University of Kentucky, where she studied choral conducting with Dr. Jefferson Johnson and Dr. Lori Hetzel and worked with both the UK Chorale and the Women’s Choir. Prior to her move to Lexington, Regan completed her Masters of Music in choral conducting with Dr. Jonathan Talberg at California State University, Long Beach, where she also directed the Women’s Choir and was a member of the award-winning bob Cole Conservatory of Music Chamber Choir (2014-2016). Growing up on the shores of Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada, Regan taught high school for eight years and conducted two choirs in the Georgian Bay area before pursuing her graduate degrees in choral conducting.
