Norman Reintamm

Norman Reintamm is a distinguished Canadian conductor ,concert organist, and pianist, known for his versatile musical career spanning orchestral and choral conducting, as well as solo performance. Beginning piano studies at the age of four, Reintamm continued with undergraduate work at the University of Toronto and McMaster University before completing postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music in London. There, he refined his craft under the tutelage of Sir David Willcocks, Sir Norman del Mar, and Sir Richard Popplewell, establishing a solid foundation for his future as a conductor and performer. Norman also hold the Licentiate in Organ Performance from Trinity College of Music in London. He apprenticed with the Vancouver Chamber Choir and the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and later gained extensive European experience, working in opera houses across Northern Europe and Scandinavia. Notably, he held positions as coach and conductor at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Head of the Opera Studio at the Estonian Academy of Music in Tallinn, and Senior Conductor at the Estonian National Opera. Upon returning to Canada, Reintamm worked with the National Ballet of Canada and served as Principal Conductor and Music Director of the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra in Toronto for over a decade. As a concert artist, Reintamm has performed organ and piano recitals across North America and Europe, gracing stages such as New York’s Cathedral of Saint John the Divine and Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall. In addition to his music career, he is a retired aviation instructor, having trained pilots at the Brantford Flight Centre. Currently, Norman Reintamm is the conductor of the Georgian Bay Concert Choir, where he brings his passion and expertise to new generations of singers and audiences.
